Introducing No, We Don’t Only Eat Carrots, A Vegan Cookbook

In the modern world, dietary preferences are becoming better defined; however, the vegan diet, in particular, can sometimes feel restricting. Here to dispel that sentiment is a new cookbook named No, We Don’t Only Eat Carrots! Plant-Based Food For Humans by Leah Jones.

Today there are a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions held by a massive amount of people. For vegetarians, simply meat is off the menu, and for gluten intolerant people a variety of breads and snacks cannot be eaten. However, the vegan diet may be even more restrictive than keeping kosher or living with a food allergy. Vegans not only avoid meats like vegetarians generally do, but they also avoid all animal products including animal oils, milk, and other ingredients. As a result, vegans must avoid dairy products, a variety of basic ingredients, and more. In turn, it is important for vegans to have a trusty set of recipes to fulfill all of their dietary needs. Today a vegan by the name of Leah Jones has curated a set of these recipes in her latest vegan cookbook titled No, We Don’t Only Eat Carrots! Plant-Based Food For Humans. With over fifty delicious recipes, No, We Don’t Only Eat Carrots is sure to add some variety and flavor to the vegan lifestyle.

The book itself contains recipes for nearly everything with a section on bread, dips and spreads, full courses, dessert, and more; it has all of the bases covered. No, We Don’t Only Eat Carrots even has a section on the importance and the practicality of the vegan lifestyle to truly round out the book. The vast majority of the recipe pages have a single, high-resolution photo of the product of the recipe spread across two pages. In this way, readers are able to see exactly what they can cook up while thumbing through the pages.

Apart from the photograph, a variety of essential information is visually summarized on each page. Icons represent whether or not each recipe contains nuts, gluten, or soy for those with allergies and a few lines of text indicate the prep time, cook time, and servings included in each recipe. As an added benefit, each recipe page includes a selection of tips with useful advice ranging from time-saving techniques to convenient alternative ingredients. To augment this wealth of information, the cookbook includes both imperial and metric units and even has forty alternative preparation methods using the Thermomix cooking appliance to make cooking even more convenient. Additionally, the book contains a calendar-like meal planner and a glossary of ingredients and where to find them.

To help get No, We Don’t Only Eat Carrots into mass production, the author Leah has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Those who preorder the book on Kickstarter will receive a massive discount as well as the complete gratitude of Leah herself who has poured countless hours into perfecting the vegan cookbook that she is now sharing with the world.
